Buganda to appeal high court ruling.

Buganda's Attorney General,Owek.David Mpanga has addressed the media at Bulange and informed journalists that his office was not satisfied with the ruling made by Justice Patricia Basaza Wasswa where she asked the Kabaka to disclose details of land titles and financial statements of Buganda Land Board to Male Mabirizi.

The Attorney General reasons that the said documents are not necessary for the prosecution of the case and that submitting them especially the financial statements would damage third parties who deal with Buganda Land Board who would not wish their financial positions to be publicised.

Owek.Mpanga,says that the learned judge errored when she granted Mabirizi's wish of embarking on a fishing expedition.The Attorney General says that by giving Mabirizi the said documents,the Kabaka would be giving on himself evidence contrary to the known tradition of evidence being produced by whoever is prosecuting a case or the accuser,in this case Male Mabirizi.

The Attorney General confirmed that his office,through Kabaka's lawyers of Kalenge,Bwanika&co.advocates will file two applications today or latest tomorrow in the court of appeal.The applications will be;
1.Application to appeal the ruling of Justice Patricia Basaza.
2.Stay of execution to stop Mabirizi from accessing the said documents until the appeal is heard and determined.
