On 28th October-2020, Buganda Land Board continued its engagement workshops with Kabaka’s chiefs at Maria Flo-Masaka. The workshop was attended by Kabaka's chiefs from Buddu, Kooki, Ssese, Kabula and Mawogola.
This was a continuation of the earlier workshop which was held at colline hotel-Mukono where Kabaka's chiefs from Kyaggwe, Buvuma, Bulemeezi, Bugerere, Bulemeezi, Buluuli were equally sensitized about BLB's operations and processes and their responsibilities on Kabaka's land. This is intended to have Kabaka's chiefs most of whom were only recently appointed into their positions to understand the workings of Buganda Land Board to enable them execute their new duties smoothly.

The workshop at Maria Flo was opened by Omuk. Simon Kabogoza, BLB's CEO who welcomed the Chiefs and requested them to feel at home and raise any issues pertinent to land administration in the Kingdom and assured them that they would be answered by the BLB team.

Omuk.Bashir Kizito, the Head of operations, Business Development, Corporate Affairs took the Chiefs through their role in the administration of Kingdom land. He gave them the dos which include settling new people on the land in conjunction with BLB, performing oversight over BLB branch managers in their areas of jurisdiction, protecting the land against encroachers. He also communicated to them the don'ts which include not selling Kingdom land or running their own land agencies on Kabaka's land.

Mr. Martin Mujabi, the head of Finance, Administration and LMIS at BLB took the chiefs through financial matters of BLB showing them how revenue is collected, shared.

Mr. Denis Bugaya, the senior manager operations took the chiefs through the contents of the 2013 agreement between the Kabaka and government of Uganda.
Mrs.Rehema Nnanvuma-Wandera, the head of Physical Planning, Survey and Research took the chiefs through the operations of the physical, survey and research department at BLB, showing them how surveys are done and their role in them.
Mr. Ssonko Lameck, the Lease manager at BLB took the chiefs through the lease process and kibanja acquisition processes at BLB.
Omuk. Luutu Moses, Katikkiro W’ebyalo bya Kabaka took the chiefs through the process of Amakula ga Kabaka collection and the hist.ory of Kabaka's 350sqmls of land.
After the presentations, the chiefs were allowed to ask questions which were answered by Omuk.Simon Kabogoza, the CEO of Buganda Land Board.

The workshop was closed by Buganda's minister of lands, environment Owek. Mariam Mayanja Nkalubo who asked the chiefs to always support Buganda Land Board in its operations in order to realise Buganda's goals.
