Buganda Land Board’s Managing Director Owek. Kyewalabye-Male has been appointed a Buganda Kingdom cabinet Minister by the Kabaka of Buganda in a recent reshuffle which was communicated by the Kabaka's private secretary Owek. Peter Mpanga. Owek.Kyewalabye-Male has been appointed as Minister of Culture, Tourism, Palaces and Security. Owek.Kyewalabye-Male has previously before being appointed a Minister served Buganda in Buganda Cultural and Development Foundation (BUCADEF), an NGO of Buganda Kingdom where he rose to the level of Chief Executive Officer. He also served as the Royal Treasurer to the Kabaka of Buganda (Omuwanika w'enkuluze) before joining Buganda Land Board in 2007 as its head to date.
In the new cabinet, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga was retained as the Katikkiro of Buganda, Owek. Twaha Kaawaase Kigongo is now the 1st Deputy Katikkiro in charge of administration, ICT and innovation, Owek. Robert Wagwa Nsibirwa is now the 2nd Deputy Katikkiro in charge of Finance, Owek. Patrick Mugumbule is now the Buganda Lukiiko Speake, deputised by Owek. Ahmed Lwasa, Owek. Christopher Bwanika is now the Kingdom Attorney General and also Local Government minister, Owek. Daudi Mpanga is now the Minister of special Kingdom duties, Owek Noah Kiyimba is still the Minister of Information and the Kingdom spokesperson but was added the responsibility of being in charge of Lukiiko and Cabinet Affairs plus Protocol, Owek. Prosperous Nankindu Kavuma is now the Minister of Education, Health, and Gender and also in charge of Nabagereka’s office affairs, Owek. Mariam Nkalubo Mayanja is now the Minister of Lands, Agriculture and Environment.
The Kabaka equally appointed State Ministers who include Owek. Joseph Kawuki who is the State Minister of Local Government, Royal tours, and Kabaka’s people who live outside Buganda in Uganda and those in the diaspora, Owek. Hamis Kakomo is still the State Minister of Agriculture, Owek. Josephine Nnantenge Ssemanda is the Permanent Secretary in the Katikkiro's office.
His Majesty further put in place an advisory council which will be led by Owek. Emmanuel Ssendawula and it has Owek.Mahmood Thobani , Owek. William Matovu and Owek. William Naggaga as members. The Kabaka lastly but not least appointed Owek. Apollo Makubuya as a senior Palace advisor.
