Buganda Land Board handed over land titles to the people of Luweero who applied for them through Ekyapa Mu Ngalo campaign.
The ceremony which took place at St.Jannan Luwum Secondary School saw many people joyfully walk away with land titles. At the same function, Buganda Land Board Managing Director Owek.Kyewalabye-Male conducted a seminar on land management to Kabaka's chiefs in Bulemeezi.
In that seminar, the chiefs got to know the boundaries of Kabaka's and other Buganda Kingdom land in Bulemeezi (Luweero district). He also taught them their responsibilities on Kingdom land including collecting busuulu and sensitising people in their areas of jurisdiction to adhere to land laws and policies to enable them secure their tenancy on land they reside, do business from.
He warned them that those who don't tell their people to do the right thing will always be powerless in the face of land evictions, saying evictions are conducted by the powerful in the country, therefore people must try to avoid evictions by following the land laws.
